Arunachaleswara temple, Tiruvannamalai

Cave I is a "Vihara" the oldest one. Cave II is a "Chaitya" which is about 48 feet square exclusive of the galleries on each side. The roof is supported by 12 columns, arranged in a square. The pillars have square bases, with the front row of pillars having dwarf figures on the upper corners of the square portion of the Pillars. There are 13 feet by 14 feet high dwarpals in front ofthe shrine which has huge Buddha seated on a high throne in a teaching pose. There are many carved male and female figures. This is must see place in your life time.

VALLUVAR KOTTAM

In Memory of Poet and Saint Thiruvalluvar who wrote Thirukkurals about 2000 years before – Valluvar Kottam was constructed in 1976. This is the replica of the temple chariot at Thiruvarur. SNAKE PARK

In Chennai, the Snake Park is situated next to the Guindy National Park. In 1972, the Madras Snake Park Trust was established and gained statutory recognition as a medium zoo from the Central Zoo Authority in 1995. It was founded by one of the prominent wildlife conservationist Romulus Whitaker. A number of snake species, lizards, crocodiles and turtles are housed here. More than 30 species of Indian snakes are here. King Cobra, Indian Rock Python, Reticulated Python, Adders and Vipers are some of the most sought after species.

Crocodile Bank, Chennai

If you want to watch many species of African and Indian crocodiles, you can go to the Crocodile Bank, which is easily accessible from Chennai. From Chengalpattu railway station is approximately 29 kms. and from Chennai it is 42 kms.
Romulus Whitaker inaugurated the Crocodile Bank in 1976. Crocodile Bank is spread over an area of 3.2 hectares. There more than 5000 crocodile species are kept in natural surroundings in pools. It creates an awareness among people that crocodiles play an ecological role in feeding on the weak and sick fishers. They are considered one of the most horrifying creatures and this Bank is an endeavour in spreading love for these creatures.
This Bank is famous for conducting researches. The snake farm here is another attraction. Here the visitors can see the demonstration of venom extraction from the snakes. If you have interest to know all these have a visit to Crocodile Bank.

National Art Gallery

If you are interested in paintings, National Art Gallery is an important Tourist attraction in Chennai. It is located in Panthian Road, Egmore, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is an integral part of Government Museum. The National Art Gallery building was built in 1906 A.D, the building has Indo-Saracenic architectural features and built with sandstone and adorned with motifs. The building was designed by Henry Irwin and initially known as Victoria Memorial Hall.

In the National Art Gallery some of the finest collection of old paintings are available. The collections are displayed in four different sections:- 1) Thanjavur Painting Gallery,
2) Decorative Art Gallery 3) Indian Traditional Art Gallery and 4) Ravi Varma Painting Gallery. The Thanjavur paintings on glass is superb. Rajput and Mughal eras’ miniature paintings are wonderful. 11th and 12th Century, Indian handicrafts are displayed in the National Art Gallery. Deccan Paintings of the 17th Century AD and handcrafts, metal ware and ivory carvings from 11th and 12th Century are worth to see. The rich collection of paintings and sculptures are the key factors for the much credited tourist place.

The museum is open on all days except Fridays and National holidays.

Gol Gumbuz in Bijapur, Tourist attraction

In Karnataka, Bijapur is well know for Chalukyan temples. It was also the capital city of Adil Shahis. Gol Gumbuz is a fine example of Islamic architecture. It dominates the entire Bijapur and is one of the largest structure of its kind in the World. It covers roughly 1,672.2 meters. It is a huge cube, with a vast hemispherical doom.

There are octagonal towers of all the four corners. It is roughly 60 meters in height and 43 meters in diameter. There is a whispering gallery, which echoes a whisper twelve times over. This is fine example of engineering, architecture and acoustic. This is one of tourist attraction places in Karnataka.

Dharmastala, Subramanya, Karnataka temples

Jog Water Falls / Dandeli Game Sanctuary – Karnataka Tourism

Jog (60 kms from Honnavar) is famous for its magnificent water falls. The Sharavali river flowing over a rocky bed takes a spectacular leap from a height of 292 meters and splits into four smaller streams. The best time to visit this place is just after the monsoons during June-November when the falls are at their most impressive.

Dandeli is blessed with pleasant weather all round the year; it is a natural habitat for wild life. It is about 150 km from Karwar, a picturesque town set against the backdrop of the Western Ghats. The famous Dandeli Game Sanctuary houses some rare species like the barking deer, sloth hear, panther, zimbhar and gaur. The majestic elephant is found wandering free here. Other wild life includes wild dogs and mongooses. A few kilometers away from the sanctuary, in the middle of a steep rock is a beautiful cave. Crawl through the entrance and you will find a large Shivalinga-like formation formed by stalactites and stalagmites.

DERAWAN ISLAND

This post I will tell you about a tourist attraction in one district of Berau in East Kalimantan.



Although only a small town, Berau store various beautiful tourist potential, ranging marine tourism, nature, history, culinary, arts and culture. Berau Regency Center in Cape Redeb District, which was situated between two river that divides the city of Cape Redeb, namely rivers and kelay satiated.

If travel to Berau, it seems unfortunately that is not taking the time to visit various tourist objects. In Cape Redeb not difficult to find a place to stay. The city also has many lodging options, ranging from star class hotels, jasmine to the cheap backpacker class.

To reach Cape Redeb not too difficult. Moreover, the currently available wide-bodied aircraft types boieng 737-200. Yesterday I only had time to stop at the island Derawan course, on the island of course I was fascinated Derawan. Coast beauty Derawan very good, compared with Beach in Bali, beach Derawan much cleaner and very beautiful underwater scene, I saw myself when snorkling, fish hiasnya very wide range, I also encounter sea turtles. Derawan clean white sand beach, the water is too clear. A friend who had to Bunaken Manado also said that beauty is still above Derawan Beach Bunaken in Manado.


Sunset and Sunrise atmosphere was really beautiful, I do not miss these two moments, in the afternoon snorkeling and swimming after I've been waiting for the moment the sun sets and the early morning around 6 o'clock I had the beach to await the sunrise from his horizon.
